Out Of Gas

If the 20th century saw the rise of fossil fuel as the prime source of energy, the 21st will certainly see its demise, according to CalTech professor David Goodstein--and that day will come sooner rather than later. Goodstein presents overwhelming evidence that fossil fuels are a rapidly depleting resource, giving a timetable of about 10 years until they run out. This prospect has serious geopolitical implications and will demand severe lifestyle changes, especially in the West.
